Pali Ke Kua View...or Princeville or famously the Bali Hai View... "The unmistakable profile of Bali Hai, or Makana Mountain on Kauai's north shore is where the last sunset in the United States takes place each evening. The name Bali Hai comes from the movie South Pacific in which the pyramid-shaped Makana represented a mystical distant island by that name"....or so my internet search says! I just loved the views when I visited and had always wanted to try and paint one of the sunsets. A friend sent me more reference images and I dreamed up some of the clouds.
